MEMO FROM MIKE VANELLI

I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank everyone for his or her confidence in electing me president. I am truly honored and humbled. Our organization dates back to 1870, and is one of the oldest chartered organizations in the state of Tennessee. My goal is simple. I want to make sure this legacy will be passed on to future generations. I need your support; participation and we need new members. If everyone finds one new member this year we can double our membership. You may be asked to volunteer or help on a committee that will be assigned to each board member. Please give your sincere consideration to help. Together we can build a strong club and perpetuate our proud heritage. May the peace of God and our Lord, Jesus Christ is with you and your families this year.

CHANGE TO NEW MEMBERSHIP TYPES AND DUES

EFFECTIVE JAN. 1, 2008

Membership Types - Qualification and Annual Dues Associated with each Type:

Type 1: FAMILY MEMBERSHIP - $220.00

Member and Spouse are eligible for League Play, Voting Rights, Holding an elected Office and Right

To attend and/or participate in all Club Functions, Children fewer than 21 are not eligible to Vote or Hold

Office.

Type 2: SINGLE MALE MEMBERSHIP - $180.00

Member is eligible for League Play, Voting Rights, Holding an elected office and the right to attend

And/or participate in all Club Functions with a guest. (Member must be 21 years of age and Single

Marital status)

Type 3: SINGLE FEMALE MEMBERSHIP - $60.00

Member is eligible for League Play, Voting Rights, Holding an elected office and the right to attend

And/or participate in all Club Functions with a guest. (Member must be 21 years of age and Single

Marital status)

Type 4: FAMILY SOCIAL MEMBERSHIP - $60.00

Member and Spouse can attend all club functions and play non-league bocce. Family Social Members

Are not eligible for Regular League Play and cannot vote or hold an elected office.

Type 5: SINGLE SOCIAL MEMBERSHIP - $45.00

Member can attend all club functions and play non-league bocce. Single Social Members are not

UPDATES AND WHAT’S HAPPENING SINCE PREVIOUS NEWSLETTER

The 3^rd Annual Invitational Tournament will be held March 28^th thru 30^th. Plans and preparation are in process. We need and solicit volunteers from all members to work during the event to make this even more enticing and successful than our previous tournaments.

Plans and Procedures to change the Club Charter are ongoing.

Statements for 2008 dues will be sent out by the end of January. Annual Payments are preferred.

We will accept dues to be paid one month in advance for monthly or quarterly pre-arranged payments.

This year we will continue to have general membership meetings quarterly.

Officers and Board Members are being assigned duties and responsibilities that will affect every aspect of The Bocce Club. Specific duties are being defined and Committee Chairmen named will be finalized at the next scheduled Board Meeting.

John Dubach, vice president volunteered and was appointed the responsibilities of the Membership Committee Chairman. His first project is to develop our website: www.memphisbocceclub.org Members will be assigned a Membership Number to use as a password for information pertaining to members only.

All ideas, suggestions and volunteered support from our members to help our club GROW will be greatly appreciated and accepted. Since spouses and children have been added to Type 1 Family Memberships as recognized members we need, hope and pray for their support and participation. In upcoming events, please help make good things happen. TOGETHER WE CAN.

Our prayers are offered to all sick and troubled members, especially for Ralph Galtelli and Cesarina Hawks and our condolences go to Eddie Greer and his family for the recent loss of his father. If anyone knows any member or friend that needs to be added to our prayer list, please let us know.

We are in the process of installing a computerized bookkeeping program and updating our contact and mailing list. We need to enter the information shown below. Please review the affixed label, make necessary changes and fill in any missing information applicable. Please return as soon as possible in the enclosed envelope.
